[Japanese][English]

The kapok tree is a naturally growing tree in tropical regions, reaching heights of up to 60 meters. It is native to Central and South America and has since spread naturally around the world, mainly found in the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America, as it requires almost no watering, pesticides, or fertilizers. It can grow up to 4 meters in a year and bears fruit after 4 to 5 years. A single tree can produce 300 to 400 fruits, allowing for annual harvests without the need to fell the tree.

The papaya fruit measures 10-30 centimeters in length, with a hard outer shell filled with seeds and light, fluffy, smooth fibers inside. Kapok fibers have a hollow structure similar to straw, with the hollow structure of kapok fibers reaching over 90%, making them lightweight (about one-fifth the weight of cotton), elastic, and soft.
