PVA
PVA polyvinyl alcohol, usually also called vinylon. In the middle of the 20th century, the German Wacker company produced PVA fiber, when mainly used for medical surgery suture. In 1938, Ichiro Sakurata of Japan and Rishengji of Korea solved the defects of water and heat resistance of PVA fiber by using the shrinkage treatment of fiber.
PVA fiber is very similar to cotton in performance, but the wear resistance, sun resistance, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of PVA fiber are much better than cotton, and the density is smaller than cotton. After continuous improvement and the production of new technology, PVA fiber has received more and more attention, and has become the second largest variety of organic high-strength fibers.
High-strength and high-modulus non-water-soluble PVA ultrashort fibers for material reinforcement:
The PVA short fiber is added to the mortar/concrete/plastic, the short fiber is evenly dispersed in the matrix material, the performance is stable and no chemical reaction occurs, and the fibers cross each other to form a three-dimensional network structure. Its main functions are as follows:
Reduce the stratification, settlement and shrinkage of the base material, and prevent the material from cracking and crack expansion;
Reduce the brittleness of the material, improve toughness, so as to achieve the effect of strengthening and toughening;
Improve the compactness of the material and improve the impermeability;
Improve the impact resistance and ultimate tensile properties of the material;
Improve the ability of materials to resist chloride ion corrosion.
Common uses include:
●Instead of asbestos materials, used for non-asbestos cement boards, colored tiles, cable pipes and lightweight partition boards, etc.
●Used for large volume concrete pouring, such as high standard airport runway, high grade highway, parking lot, dam, port wharf, high-rise building floor, bridge deck and swimming pool, etc.;
● For industrial and civil building roof treatment, basement and wall plastering mortar;
● Shotcrete for tunnels, culverts and slopes;
● As a reinforcing material for gypsum products, magnesite products, powder building materials, rubber products and plastic products;
● For coastal beaches, saline areas and chemical corrosion sites.
High strength and high modulus PVA filament
PVA filament has the characteristics of high strength, high modulus, small elongation, good combination with the matrix material, acid and alkali resistance, wear resistance and so on. In recent years, the use of PVA filament reinforced composite materials has been widely used in the field of national defense and military industry. Compared with aramid, its cost is lower, but all aspects of performance can be comparable to aramid. As the strength and modulus of PVA filaments are further improved, the proportion of alternative aramid fibers will increase.
Common uses include:
● Composite with cement-based materials: high-demand geogrid is a high-end material for building structure enhancement, repair, reinforcement and shockproof.
● Composite with rubber materials: used in industrial pipes, industrial hoses, tire cord fabrics, etc.
● Sewing thread, rope, fishing net, high pressure pipe, safety rope and other aspects have a wide range of applications.
High strength and high modulus PVA staple yarn
Through a special spinning method, the use of curly PVA fiber for spinning, made of vinylon staple yarn, similar characteristics with cotton, but significantly improved mechanical properties and acid and alkali corrosion resistance, regular can be applied to clothing, sewing thread, rubber and other materials to enhance.
