Washi

Washi is a traditional Japanese material with a history of more than 1,300 years.

We use Japanese patented technology to extract fibers from the natural grass plant Manila hemp to make paper, then cut and twist them into environmentally friendly new washi yarn through a special process.

Compared with wood pulp, the fibers in Manila hemp pulp are thinner, longer, softer, stronger and have a certain toughness, so they are soft and clean, and there is a sense of expansion.

Washi yarn is made of natural materials. It is not only fluffy and light, but also has the same dry feel as linen fabric, which can give the body a comfortable feeling. In addition, the weight of Washi is only one third of that of hemp. And the clothes made from it have a straight shape, fine texture and lightness like feathers. Washi has already been the raw material used by many high-end clothing. It is suitable for weaving and knitting.

l Natural and eco-friendly

Washi is made from natural fibers. It can be degraded by natural degradation or composting, only takes 2 weeks, no toxic substances are produced during degradation, and it is completely sustainable. So, washi has very clear advantages in our approach to carbon neutrality.

l Strong Breathability

The porous structure of washi fiber allows it to quickly dissipate heat and insulate heat. Therefore, it has a cool feeling in summer and a thermal insulation effect in winter.

l Antibacterial and deodorant

Highly breathable and quick-drying, it creates a dry skin environment and inhibits the growth of bacteria.

l Wash available and highly resistance

Unlike the traditional paper in the impression, the strength of the washi yarn will increase after it is wetted with water. This is very similar to linen products. The washing and wear resistance are 3-5 times than cotton products. Not a disposable product.

l Block UV rays effectively

The shielding rate can reach 97.8% ~ 99%, which can protect the skin from UV damage.

l Super lightweight

The fabric made of washi paper can achieve a weight of 12~15g/m², which is impossible for conventional fabrics. It has a fluffy feeling and a clear texture.

l No ball on fabric, no hair feathers.

Compared with chemical fiber products, the washi fiber is softer, will not pilling and has no hairiness.
